Key Responsibilities:Curriculum Development and Alignment:Design, review, and refine curriculum programs to align with the school's mission, educational philosophy, and WASC accreditation standards.Ensure the curriculum is comprehensive, inclusive, and promotes critical thinking, creativity, and lifelong learning.Collaborate with department heads to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of curriculum across grade levels.Instructional Leadership:Provide instructional leadership and support to teachers, focusing on effective teaching strategies and differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs.Conduct regular classroom observations, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate professional development to enhance teaching practices.Lead the implementation of innovative instructional practices and the integration of technology into the curriculum.Academic Supervision:Oversee academic programs to ensure they meet the needs of all students, including those with special needs and English Language Learners (ELL).Monitor student achievement data and use it to inform curriculum and instruction decisions.Work with teachers to develop and implement interventions and support programs for students not meeting academic expectations.Accreditation and Compliance:Ensure the school remains in compliance with WASC accreditation standards, including the preparation of accreditation reports and participation in accreditation visits.Stay informed about changes in educational standards, accreditation requirements, and best practices in curriculum development and instruction.Professional Development:Plan and facilitate ongoing professional development programs for faculty and staff, focusing on curriculum implementation, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.Mentor and coach teachers to enhance their instructional skills and professional growth.Collaboration and Communication:Collaborate with school leadership, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to support students' academic and social-emotional development.Serve as a liaison between the school and external educational organizations, staying updated on trends and innovations in curriculum and instruction.Assessment and Evaluation:Develop and implement assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum and instructional practices.Analyze assessment data to make informed decisions about curriculum improvements and student interventions.Qualifications:Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum Development, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, preferably in a K-12 setting.Prior experience in curriculum development and academic supervision, preferably in a WASC-accredited school.Strong understanding of educational best practices, curriculum design, and instructional strategies.Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of educators, students, and parents.Proficiency in educational technology and data-driven decision-making.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with accreditation processes and maintaining compliance with educational standards.Certification in educational leadership or curriculum supervision.
