Position: Principal Associate / Deputy Practice Head – City Civil Court

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced lawyer to lead our City Civil Court practice. The ideal candidate should possess extensive knowledge and experience in civil and commercial laws, with expertise in representing clients before various forums, including Rent Control, family, labour, and consumer courts. The candidate must be enrolled with the Bar Council of India. The role involves managing a team of lawyers and providing legal advice to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drafting original suits, petitions, and appearing for civil cases in City Civil Courts and Commercial Courts.
• Handling Rent Control and Motor Accident cases in Small Causes Courts.
• Representing clients in Family Courts.
• Managing labour matters before the appropriate forum.
• Handling consumer court cases.
• Managing the practice and leading a team of lawyers.
• Advising clients on Civil, commercial, labour, Rent control, Motor accident, family, and consumer matters.
• Attending court hearings, meetings, mediations, and negotiating settlements on behalf of clients.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with clients, industry experts, and other stakeholders.
• Keeping up-to-date with changes in the law and advising clients accordingly.
• Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers in the team.
• Ensuring compliance with ethical and professional standards.
• Assisting in filing and section work for all cases.

Qualifications and Experience:

• LLB or LLM degree from a recognized university.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in court practice.
• Experience in managing a team of lawyers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Sound judgment and analytical skills.

Requirement:

• Membership of the Bar Council of India is mandatory.
